I wrote the lyrics of this song on a flight home from Phoenix, AZ. After a difficult Pastoral transition my wife and I began attending a new church as layman. I never anticipated the emotional feelings that would happen in my heart by going through such an ending of my pastoral career. I discovered just how much I needed my brothers and sisters in Christ. I’ve always loved the Church. Even my last congregation was filled with wonderful people. To date a group of us meet monthly for brunch. This song demonstrated our need for each other. No matter who you are you need other people in your life to be there when you’re hurting. Also, you need to be there for others. Our mutual caring for each other is how the love of Christ is lived out.
