My father, who is in heaven
And all around me and in my heart.
The one who was and is and is to come.
The one who is the same yesterday today and forever.
The God, who is all powerful, all knowing, and always present.
The God, who is love, grace, forgiveness, joy, and peace. The God who is truth, wrath, and justice.
The God, whose mercies are new every morning. Great is his faithfulness.
Your kingdom come, your will be done in my heart, in my home, in my church, in the cities, in this state, in this country, and in this world! May your power be seen in signs and wonders by your people.
Give us the stay our daily bread. Thank you, Lord for your provision, and we pray that you continue to provide.
Forgive me of my sins. My pride, my lust and my lack of faith. Teach me to forgive those who have sinned against me and to show them love and compassion.
Lead me not into temptation, but, if I am being tempted, show me the way of escape. Put a hedge of protection around my home and my family so that I may have the strength to hold up my shield of faith.
For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
The 23rd Psalm – adapted by Rev. Martin A. Shrout
You are the good Shepherd,
I have all that I need.
You make me lie down in green pastures,
You’d lead me beside quiet Waters
You restore and refresh my soul.
You make me walk in the path of righteousness for your namesake.
Even though I walked through the valley of the shadow of death, I don’t have to fear in the evil one. Because you are with me. Your rod and your staff they correct me, protect me, and comfort me.
You prepare a table before me and the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil which means that I am chosen, I’m of the elect. May your Holy Spirit pour into my heart and lead and guide my life. And I am trusting in your healing.
My cup overflows with blessings. Abundant and wonderful.
And I truly know that goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life. And I want to dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
I pray all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. Amen!
