One of the most significant acts of unity in the Church is in sharing Communion. Believers all over the world celebrate communion. It is the great reminder for all of us that Christ’s death is the reason we have forgiveness of sin. Communion is the one symbolic act that all Christians, no matter their theology, share. I had looked for a song that would remind us as a congregation how we are unified in the body of Christ. Not finding one, I decided to write one. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one. Christ longs for His church to be one as well. 22 “I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me” (John 17:22-23 NIV).
