Categories: Re-Imagined Hymn, Solo, Worship SongsOver the years I’ve experimented with newer forms of chord structures. My son, Zack, had been interested in an old Rock and Roll song called “Free Bird” by Ronnie Van Zant. We’re talking an old 70’s tune. I analyzed it and found I really liked the chord pattern. At the time I was interested in updated our old Church of God hymns and found this great song by D. Otis Teasley called, “I Am the Lord’s I Know.” Taking the chord structure from “Free Bird” I created a new melody to fit these words from Teasley. The message of the lyrics are so encouraging. Realizing that we are the Lord’s and He is never far from us. As the Apostle Paul writes in Romans 8:38-39 that nothing can separate us from God’s love. Take courage from this message that God will always be with you. Blessings!
