This song grew out of a desire to experiment with different styles. After listening to pop radio, I wondered if I could try writing something with that same bright, accessible energy. The lyric came from the old phrase “Jesus freak,” once used to label devoted Christians. With its lighthearted feel and joyful melody, the song invites listeners to embrace the calling of sharing the gospel with courage and joy. My hope is that it encourages you to live boldly and joyfully as a “Jesus freak.”
