No Other Gods Before Him

This song was written back in Oceanside, CA when I was preaching on the Ten Commandments.  I wanted to express the idea that God is a jealous God and doesn’t like sharing our affections with anything or anyone else.  It’s interesting the number of times God uses the word “Adultery” to convey His dismay with the Hebrew people and their choice to worship false gods.  The first commandment is, “You shall have no other gods before Me” (Exodus 20:3 NASB).  You may not be worshiping known foreign gods but anything that steals your affections from God can be seen as having other gods in your life.  My hope is that this song reminds you to put God first in all things.  Even though we will have pain and struggles, life just goes better with God’s blessings!  May this song encourage you to put God first above everything else.  Blessings!
