Advent means “coming.” Looking forward to the coming King. Searching for our savior and redeemer. Over the years I haven’t found many good songs about the Prophets looking forward to the time of Christ. But look forward they did. With great earnest. They prophesied the Virgin birth (Isaiah. 7:14), born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2), Miraculous Ministry (Isaiah 35:5-6), that He would be a prophet like Moses (Deuteronomy 18:15-16), recovery of sight for the blind (Isaiah 61:1-2) and resurrection for all (Isaiah 25:6-9). Jesus was their hope then and He is our hope now. Come Lord Jesus!
